Brea Gilchrist

The basic structures of the human body are shared: regardless of age, culture, or status. This is why our anatomy has become Gilchrist’s focal point in her creations. In her work, she is attempting to have the viewers rethink their understanding of anatomy. It is not only our human blueprint, but when taken out of the medical context where it is seen most, these structures are truly striking visuals. Gilchrist wants human anatomy to be more approachable to any viewer, because whether they realize it or not, they are involved in these depictions that unite us as human beings.
